There is an opportunity for progression and some SLCs will opt to undertake additional training to become an Advanced Learning Coach (ALC). What support will I get?

The training programme is blended, and all delegates will have access to the SLC Community website throughout their training programme.
In addition to two face-to-face sessions and online support, delegates will have guidance from their tutor(s) to guide them through the training process, from induction (conducted online) to the completion of the portfolio.

How much time will I spend on the SLC role?
read ...
This depends on the needs of the organisation and the coach’s main job role. SLCs whose main role in the institution is to support the development of teaching/training staff will spend more time on coaching activities than staff on full-time teaching roles.
Each organisation will decide how to make best use of the skills of their subject learning coaches and many coaching activities will be integrated into the coach’s role as a supportive colleague.
